   In consideration of the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mount Pleasant Cemetery (London) Inc. continues to take steps to reduce risk to our staff, the families we serve, and our guests.

   We take the safety of our community and the families we serve very seriously and we have adapted our daily health and safety protocols to reflect this. We are taking extra precautions to limit exposure, our staff will be cleaning on an ongoing basis, and we will be following all government recommended guidelines (including social distancing). Please understand we are implementing these safety measures to ensure we can continue to serve you in your time of need.

   Some functions will be offered in a modified capacity, while others are temporarily suspended. Given the evolving nature of the situation this information is subject to change.

   The following adjustments have been made based on the information provided through the governing bodies that look after Funeral Providers and Cemeteries as well as the local, provincial and national health agencies. They are as follows:

Immediate Assistance

 If a death has occurred, please call 519-434-6504 at any time, where we can direct you to the appropriate representative to best meet your needs.

Essential Services

Transfer Service – We continue to offer services for at-need families. Please contact us at any time, and a consultant can begin the process.

Cremations – Cremation will continue as usual, though only Funeral Providers may enter the crematorium/retort area while accompanied by the crematorium operator. 

Burials – Cemetery staff will continue to offer burials. For further information, please contact a cemetery representative or contact your Funeral Provider who can submit a request. 

 Modified Services

Arrangements – An appointment is recommended to guarantee a consultant is available upon your arrival.

Cremation Witnessing* – May be arranged with the assistance of a Funeral Provider. 5 family members will be permitted to enter the crematorium at this time. Additional family may witness from outside the crematorium doors.
*Please note that witnessing does not give access to the chapel. 

Seasonal Correspondence – Annual memorial planting will be returning this year, if you wish to receive a form please call or e-mail the office.

Screening Process

  1. Have you or anyone in your immediate family encountered someone who has, or is suspected of having, COVID-19? 
  2. Do you have, or have you experienced any of these symptoms in the past 14 days:
  • Fever 
  • Cough 
  • Shortness of Breath

 If you have answered yes to any of these questions, our consultants will ask you to make arrangements remotely.

Office Hours

 Our office doors are now open however it is recommended you but an appointment to guarantee someone is available to see you. Staff will be responding to phone calls and emails during regular business hours:

Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at limited capacity
Sunday we will be closed

Due to the number of requests we are receiving we will be responding according to urgency. Please excuse the delay, all other requests will be addressed as promptly as possible.

Cemetery Grounds

 The cemetery grounds continue to be open to the public in accordance with our by-laws, “The cemetery grounds are open from dawn to dusk. Entry at other times is not permitted.” (section 4.2.01).

 We ask visitors to follow the appropriate steps to protect yourself and those around you by following the guidelines set out by the various levels of government throughout Canada.

 We ask that families with general inquiries (including family history and location requests), looking to make a payment, requesting a work order, or other matters that are not urgent to email info@mpcemetery.ca or call our cemetery office during regular business hours at 519-434-6504.

 Please call prior to your arrival. We will have staff ready to assist you if necessary.
