Obituary of Bill Easton

EASTON, William Ewart – William Ewart Easton passed peacefully at the age of 94, surrounded by the love and support of his family on Sunday May 5, 2019 at the Huronlea Home for the Aged, a caring and loving community in Brussels, Ontario. 

 

Bill was born on October 7, 1924 in London, Ontario to Jessie and Matthew Easton, both originating from Scotland UK.  The eldest of four siblings, Bill is survived by his sister Yvonne of Goderich, Ontario, and was predeceased by brothers Matt and Robert. Bill will be sorely missed by his grandson Neil McKenna of Ottawa, and by his daughter Linda and son in law Bill Pfannenstiel of Goderich.  Remembered by his nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. 

 

Bill had a full and gratifying life in London, Ontario, and his list of achievements is endless.  He was a long time member of the London Curling Club and played an integral part in the redesign of the facility and rink.   Bill served for over thirty years on the Board of Directors for Mount Pleasant Cemetery and was the engineering mind behind countless projects throughout its’ growth.  Late in his engineering career Bill took the helm with the reconstruction and design of many projects associated with Cuddy Farms in Strathroy and London. 

 

On Thursday May 9, 2019 Bill Easton was laid to rest beside the love of his life, his wife Dorothy June Easton, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, Ontario.
