Obituary of Thelma Glendon

Thelma Glendon 

September 20, 1925 – August 13, 2019

It is with heavy hearts the family of Thelma Glendon announces her peaceful passing in her 94th year at McCormick Long Term Care Home, London, Ontario on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Thelma was predeceased by her loving husband Donald Gordon Glendon (Sarnia).  Lovingly remembered by her daughter Judy Hicken (Leonard), son Owen (Margaret), son Dan (Cheryl MacDonald) and youngest son Gord (Morag Bell).  She will be missed by her grandchildren Deborah McLaughlin, David Poolman, Michael, Mathew and Scott Glendon, Zoe and Chelsea Glendon, Andrew, Katie and Robbie Glendon and Gillian MacDonald, along with her seven great-grandchildren. Thelma obtained her Registered Nurses Assistant diploma and spent most of her working life in the service of others for many years at Shady Lane and Chateau Gardens Nursing homes in Strathroy and London, Ontario.  Thelma enjoyed Bible Study and was actively involved in the SALS group at St. Albans Anglican Church in London, Ontario. Her energy was tireless when it came to the care for others, but the family that she raised with her husband Don was her greatest pride and joy. Cremation has taken place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, Ontario. Family and friends will gather at a later date (to be determined) to share memories in a Celebration of Life,  as was her request. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Thelma are asked to consider the Canadian Diabetes Association.
