Martha Kirtley Baskett Scully of London, Ontario, passed away on January 28th. She was born in Pasadena California to Kirtley Baskett and Clara Newman on April 26, 1948.
She grew up in Pasadena, attended Westridge School and The University of California, Berkley. She studied abroad in India and France, and obtained her Masters in English at McGill University.
She was a fantastic mother.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed art and film, and loved to travel.
Martha is preceded in death by her late husbands Richard Scully and Carl Mangold. She is survived by her, son Will (Allison), daughter Catherine (Daniel), grandchildren Clara, Liam, Alec, Elliot, and Vivian, brother George (Joan) and sister Laura (Charlie), and ex-husband Robert LeBlanc.
She dearly loved her friends in London and Montreal. Martha will be fondly remembered for her generosity, kindness, and wicked sense of humour!
She was a teacher by profession, and taught students at Westmount High, E.C.S., Flintridge Prep. and Princess Elizabeth.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of The London Health Sciences Center for their exceptional care and support.
A commemorative service will be announced in the Spring.
