Obituary of Elizabeth Marjorie Toze

Elizabeth Marjorie (“Margie”) Toze (nee, Byron) It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our mom, Margie, on 30, January in London, Ontario. Beloved mom to Pamela Cochrane McInnes, Alan Cochrane and Gaynor (Rodney) Taylor. Loving nanny to Madyson and Grant. Born in Liverpool, England to parents (predeceased Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Byron), Margie never forgot her roots as she was a true “Scouser”. Margie graduated with an Accounting designation before immigrating to Canada (London) and residing in Windsor, Ontario, with the loves of her life, husband Joseph Cochrane, and their three children. Margie worked in accounting and customer service at Sears Canada before retiring in 1990 after twenty fun-filled years. Before and after retiring, Margie and her second husband (predeceased) Edward Toze, embarked on a world-wide journey visiting the Caribbean Islands, Europe, England, Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada (just to name a few). Never one to sit still, Margie continued to work as a volunteer at the hospital, judicial court, Red Cross and primary school with children. Margie loved knitting and designed some of her own creations that were proudly worn, and taught those who were interested in the craft. Mom loved gabbing to anyone and everyone, and touched the souls of many who knew and loved her, both past and present (Frank), especially with her accent, charm, feistiness, sensor of humour, smile, strength and wit. The family would like to thank all of the staff at McCormick Home for their compassionate care and companionship. To honour Margie, a gathering will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery & Crematorium Chapel, London, Ontario on Friday, 7 February 2020 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Margie’s name to a charity that will aid children, animals, or the Alzheimer Society. Rest in peace “Margie Mom”. We will always love you. Online condolences may be made at Mount Pleasant Cemetery (London) Inc. www.mpcemetery.ca
