Obituary of Donna Merry Cada

CADA, Donna Merry (McConnachie) It is with much sadness and sorrow, that the family of Merry Cada regret to announce her passing on June 16th, 2020 after a courageous battle against cancer. Merry was the best friend and soulmate of Tom, devoted and proud mother of Tim (Melissa) and Jon, cherished grandmother to Sarah and David amd loving sister-in-law to Beth. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Doris McConnachie. Merry was born in Vancouver, B.C. on December 2nd, 1943. She and her parents moved across Canada in her youth, eventually settling in Windsor, Ontario, where she met the love of her life, Tom. Married for 55 years, Tom and Merry shared an enviable life and bond together, and remained devoted to each other until Merry’s last moment on earth. Beset by chronic illness as a young mother, Merry was a role model for perseverance and with Tom at her side, lived life to it’s fullest. Tom and Merry were truly the definition of ‘til death do they part. Proud of her sons Tim and Jon and her grandchildren, Dave and Sarah, Merry loved to regale anyone within earshot about their exploits and accomplishments. Active in the Airstream RV community, Merry & Tom loved to travel and had many adventures throughout North America, accompanied by their Newfoundland dogs. Merry loved that her dogs would become celebrities in every place they visited. It was a great way to meet people. A celebration of Merry’s life will take place in London at a later date.
