Obituary of Jan Dekker

As per our mom's wishes, a beautiful private family funeral service has taken place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Saturday January 26.  Although a cold day, the sun was shining brightly to warm our hearts and every bird in the neighbourhood was there singing her home.  It is all still quite overwhelming despite how well we thought we were prepared.  She is the last of her generation and loved by her many nieces and nephews in her beloved Netherlands, a place we all hold near and dear to our hearts.  We are comforted to know we feel we did the very best we could for her and know that she felt extremely loved.  To honour her memory please consider a random act of kindness.  Our mom loved animals of all kinds.  So feed the birds, pet the dogs, treat every animal with kindness, or consider a donation to your local humane society.  We will miss her dearly, but we are forever grateful for the joy she brought to all of our lives.  Love Ron, Tom, & Janice Dekker.
