Obituary of James Clifford Gauld

Gauld, James November 2, 1925 - January 25, 2021 It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jim Gauld at Victoria Hospital, London on Monday January 25, 2021, in his 96th year. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years Lois (West) Gauld. Loving father of Jamie (Lori) and Robert. Proud Grandfather of Jamie (Alana) and Geoffrey (Hannah Carter). Also survived by his cherished Great Grand children Gibson, Emmalyn and Georgia. Born in London on November 2, 1925, Jim served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WW II and attended Ryerson University after the war. In 1952 he and Lois were married and settled in Byron Ontario (London) to raise their family. Jim was very athletic and enjoyed participating in numerous sporting activities, fishing trips to northern Ontario and the time spent at the family cottage on Lake Huron. During his lifetime he worked for Comstock, Ontario Hydro (Bruce Nuclear) and eventually retired from The London Free Press. The family would like to thank the Middlesex-London EMS and the ICU staff at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. In keeping with Jim’s wishes a private interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery London. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of ones choice.
