Obituary of Gerald Andrew Gallacher

GALLACHER, Gerald - It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Andrew Gallacher at the age of 49, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Gerald leaves behind a legacy of love, decency and admiration from all he knew. Devoted husband and best friend to Nadine. Incredible, inspirational and proud father to Aidan and Jaimeson. Beloved son to Ailsa and Andrew Gallacher, cherished brother to Jamie and Carol and loving uncle to Sarah and Noah. Gerald will be deeply missed by his tremendous extended family both throughout Canada and abroad. We thank our friends, neighbours and loving “Oakridge family” who have supported us throughout this difficult journey and continue to surround us with strength. Gerald was an active and avid sportsman who dedicated time to the rink, links and pitch both as a player and a coach. Gerald will forever and fondly be remembered as #25 to those who followed his soccer career in the early days of London City Soccer Club. Gerald’s passion for architecture and professional role as partner and Principal at Nicholson Sheffield Architects Inc. were truly his most treasured and beloved aspirations and accomplishments. His drive, determination and dedication to his career were inspiring to those he worked with and mentored. It is with immense gratitude that we acknowledge his business partners and dear friends, Jim Sheffield and John Nicholson, along with the incredible team of colleagues. We also extend thanks to the greater architecture, construction and business community who shared in Gerald’s professional pride, work ethic and integrity. We deeply appreciate the care and kindness offered to our family from his compassionate team of physicians and palliative care professionals. A life well lived, is a life well loved and is an immeasurable loss to all. A private family service will be held with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.
