Lissa and family - We are so sorry to hear of Peter's passing and send our condolences to you and your beautiful four girls and families. We were so fortunate to spend some time with you both a few summers ago at Riley's cottage and will remember that fondly. Personally, we always remember the baseball days when we were all so much younger and I remember "Peter" the catcher always willing to let the kids try on his gear and run the bases! He was definitely in training to be a great Papa even back then.
Bruce and I, and so many others, have thought so much of Peter and his brave fight over this last while. Please take care of yourself.

Our deepest condolences to Lissa, Amy, Sarah, Mary, Leah and of course Peter’s family and friends. I was just five years old when the O’Brien clan of 9 children moved a few doors down from the Regan clan of 8 children. Along with the other large families on Queen Anne, we enjoyed an amazing childhood with the woods backing our homes and enough people on call for whatever game we chose to play. Although our family moved in 1985, Larry and I were grateful to reconnect through Lissa, when our paths crossed through politics. Reminiscing with Lissa and Peter at Reunion, not long before his diagnosis, it was clear that he could not have been happier in love and life. My family hung on every update of his battle and we all rejoiced at every positive turn. He will be dearly missed and is so fondly remembered.

On paper, Peter was our London City Lightning soccer coach for many years. Coaching a group of teenage girls is a task that most ordinary men would not touch with a ten foot pole. At a time when most of our own parents were probably sick of us, Peter dedicated his evenings and weekends, travelling near and far and helping us grow as players and young women.
But Peter was so much more than just a soccer coach. He was always able to see past our mood swings, tardiness and impressive ability to never (ever) shut up and recognize and appreciate each and every one of us for the unique people we were becoming. The bonds that were created during those years will last a lifetime and that does not happen by accident. It was Peter's gentle nature, incredible sense of humour, and generosity of spirit that fostered a community where we felt safe to be ourselves, to make mistakes, to succeed and to fail, knowing he would always be there to pick us up again.
To the beautiful Regan ladies, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. The world has lost one of the true greats and he will be missed dearly by many, many people. I will think of him often and smile at all of the incredible memories I was so fortunate to have with him and the whole Regan family. Our road trip to Niagara Falls, the out of town tournaments, the countless times we disrupted his relaxation time in his favourite chair in the living room, the time I accidentally flashed him, the time he slipped in his brand new white sneakers during a drill, and most importantly, all of the times I was able to make him laugh his sweet laugh. Nothing made me happier than making Peter chuckle and say "Ohhh Katie".
Love you dearly Peeto,
Katie Casey #7

Peter was truly one of a kind. A great storyteller. A wonderful sense of humour. Kind and caring. He made a big difference to the London Football Officials group, as he likely did in all the organizations and groups of which he was a part. He will be missed by many. My condolences to Lissa and all his family - I can only imagine the depth of your grief. My prayers are with you.

Dear Lissa and Family;
My heart is hurting as I write this, so I can imagine what you all must be feeling. Heartfelt Condolences.
I have fond memories of Pete visiting the Townhouse on 242 Taylor St. - we could hear his Datsun pulling into the driveway- and then look forward to his open mouth smile as he walked in - always gave you the feeling that he was just really happy to be there ... and that we (Eadie and Duffy, and I) should also be really happy he was there too !!!!
On my move from London out West.I recall attending your wedding in Jasper and meeting your wonderful family.
Pete's golden aura always lit up the room and I feel lucky to have been his friend. Thank you for sharing his farewell .
RIP My Friend

I think back often to the CCH days. Although a short time in our lives it made a lasting memory for many of us, including me.
It was a once in a lifetime group that came together. Yea, the football was great, as well as the other sports like track, hockey, playing combat ring hockey or just working out...but it was more than that. Hanging around together was what most of us looked forward to. And with our close knit 'brotherhood' we were prepared to back one another up - no matter why, when or where.
I remember vividly Peter's running style, both on the football field and the track. Knees up, arms pumping, head up, running hard...really hard. I would look up and see you carrying a couple would-be tacklers on your back, always gaining extra yards.
The pre and post game rituals we had for football were also one of a kind, including us going over and gorging ourselves over at Father T's house. The banter and joking around still makes me smile.
Peter's subtle sense of humour and laugh (more like a funny type of snicker) was another one of his trademarks. But more than that, Peter were always depenbable (on & off the sports fields) and a solid person...one that many of us still look up to. Tom Keogh & Many of the CCH Old Boys

Lissa, Sarah, Leah, Mary and Amy,
Our hearts are broken to learn of the passing of Pete. There are no words that can ease the pain and loss you are all feeling but hopefully the memories shared from people that Pete touched will give you some comfort. Our memories of Pete were spent on soccer fields with our girls playing London North and CCH soccer. Pete and a group of the fathers would always maintain their stance on the sidelines cheering the girls on and enjoying some laughs of their own. Pete was one of those individuals that you hope you meet in life, a genuine man. You couldn’t help being drawn into his friendly, positive, humorous, caring disposition. His love for his family was always evident. He was proud of his ‘girls’ and his legacy will carry on in each of you.
Goodnight Pete, God bless.
Sincere sympathy, caring thoughts and much love,
Steve & Debra Bates

Lissa, Amy, Sarah, Mary and Leah,
Our hearts are broken to learn of Pete’s passing. There are no words to help ease your tremendous loss and pain but I hope knowing the impact this wonderful man had on others will offer some comfort. Getting to know Pete and the Regan family through many years of our girls playing London North soccer and CCH soccer was nothing short of a pleasure. Such a wonderful, positive, fun loving man who adored his ‘girls’ as they adored him. Our girls would often comment on Pete and the ‘guys’ in their usual stance on the sidelines, the cheering section!! We are filled with so many memories from those fun years. We hope in time you will find comfort in the wonderful memories we know he left each of you with.
Thinking of you all with sympathy, love and caring thoughts, God Bless, Goodnight Pete❤️

We will miss so many things about Pete. His laugh, his pride and joy in his daughters, love for his sons-in-law and grandkids and extended families. His immense pride in all of them and his deep love for and pride in Lissa. His unhesitating "of course!" when we needed someone to check in on our miscreant cats when we went on vacation. His insistence on driving me to post-surgery physio appointments and his calling over the fence when he heard me get out of the pool "You okay? Need help?" A million little things and as many big ones.
Our lives are richer for having known him.

So one of William's memories is playing football with Peter as the one of referees and your father in law at the other end of the field and a ball is headed right for Ken and Peter is running down to make sure he isn't hit. All good there. I remember sitting in church with Peter last January and telling him he had to make sure I didn't make too many errors at a catholic service which made him laugh. I can tell you that time does not heal all wounds but memories and family are there forever. Never feel you can't turn to us for anything no matter what it is. Thinking of you

Aunt Lissa, Amy, Sarah, Mary and Leah, your Michigan family is just heart broken that Uncle Peter has left this earth and it is going to take quite a long time for this hurt to ease. We will forever cherish all the family trips we took when the girls were small to the Detroit Zoo, BobLo Island, Disney World, and all the "Annual Regan Pool Parties", just to name a few and Lissa in 2018 when Charlie and I got to enjoy Cape Coral with you, Pete, Deb and Graham. You will always hold a special place in our hearts Peter and this loss is so great, but I know God is taking wonderful care of you now!! May God wrap his arms around you all and give you the comfort you will need in the days, months and years to come!! Uncle Peter, you will be missed by us all forever and ever!!! We are so glad and blessed we were able to come see you, talk, eat, cry and hug one last time last Thursday, this memory will be in my heart forever!!! Good bye dear, dear friend, Good bye!!

I had the opportunity to know Peter in high school where I played football and track with him. He was a fantastic athlete and I remember when I was in grade 9 and tried out for the football team, Pete, who was a year ahead of me, was great with us newbies, very welcoming towards us. And he remained that way throughout the time I played sports in high school. My sincere condolences to all of his family and loved ones and the London community is surely going to miss him dearly.
