Obituary of Jean Notman Brown

Jean Notman Brown R.N., O.O.H.N. Jean died peacefully on July 11, 2021 in her 100th year. Survived by son George and Bev Brown and daughter Joanne and Dan Robilliard, sister Bessie McCaw and sister-in-law Diane and Roger Cowley. Grandchildren Donna and Chris Norley, Laura and Scott Root, Brad Robilliard, Rob Brown and Carla Wilson, and Kim and Jim Humphries. Great grandchildren Devan Robilliard (Taryn), Kristen Robilliard (Fearghus), Megan Root (Duncan), Adam Root (Jamie), Kate Norley (Shawn), Sarah Norley (Michael), Sydney and Georgia Brown and Allie and Brett Humphries and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by husband George Edward Brown of Thorndale, brothers William (Bud) Galloway of Brantford and Robert (Bob) Galloway of Bramalea and parents William and Bessie Galloway of Brantford, originally from Scotland. Jean was born in Brantford on April 27, 1922. As a young lady, she was a Brownie leader, Guide leader and Guide Commissioner in Brantford. Jean graduated from Brantford General Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 and she became the Ontario Occupational Health Nurse at 3M Canada for 35 years. She was active in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. Upon retirement she organized the 3M Retirees Club and the 3M Archives. For several years Jean was the Parade Marshal for the Thorndale Fair Parade. She was a member of the Seniors Organization in St. Marys and Ingersoll. Jean was an avid bridge player and she enjoyed many years of travelling locally and internationally. Jean was a loyal Blue Jays fan. Jean’s remarkable memory exceeded the family’s collective one. Her wit and wisdom will always inspire us. Slàinte mhath and Happy Trails Jean, with love from your family. A private family service is planned. Jean supported the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
