It is sad to learn of the passing of Ross Andrewes. "That's Andrews , the English spelling with es on the end", as he so often explained to us ! He was a regular at the coffee shop in Wortley Village and we would often see him shopping at the Valu-mart or on his way home to Grand Avenue with his trusty walker. Ross was a faithful worker at Dundas Street Centre United Church and he had many friends there. Through the week, he would come over to fold the worship service bulletins for Sunday and tidy up the pews. Then he would show up again on Sunday morning to light the Christ Candle at the service. He was very proud to be "keeper of the flame" and took his job seriously. With his love of history, he was a natural as church archivist. Many informative displays were crafted by him for open houses and anniversary services. He also took great pride in entertaining the young people with his magic shows. His lectures on "Gems of the Bible" were a delight for the adults too. We miss you Ross but you are not forgotten.
