Obituary of David Christopher Haldane Wilcox

David Christopher Haldane Wilcox, “Chris”, was born in London, Ontario in 1939 and died suddenly of natural causes on Sunday, July 25th. Chris lived for many years with his dear friend and closest companion, Sandra Hodgins, who predeceased him on April 10th, 2021. Chris was the son of Dewitt and Josephine Wilcox and brother to two sisters, Jennifer Louise (1942-2016) and Mary Charlotte of Gabriola Island. Chris took great interest in the lives of Jennifer’s children (Bob Nourse, father), nephews Rob, and Dave (Krista) of Toronto, Mike (Marta) of Chicago and his only niece, Amy (Chris) of Austin, Texas and the adventures of his great nephews, Josh of Toronto, Elliot and Graham of Austin and his great nieces, Kira, Adelaine and Callie of Toronto. Chris loved building, the Great Lakes, power boats, cars and dear friends who shared their skills in this regard with fond mention here of Tony Graat, Jib and Debbie Turner, Joe Carapella, James Hepple, Richard Wright and the Obahi family. Great thanks from Chris’s family to his and Sandy’s neighbours on both sides and the families all around Algoma Place for their friendship and care during covid and to date in 2021. A graveside service will take place this Friday but due to protocols, the time and place are not permitted in print. However, you are warmly invited to join Chris’s family and friends at 12:30 p.m. for a light lunch at “Barney’s”, the Ceeps, 671 Richmond Street, Friday 13th, 2021.
