Obituary of Arthur James Melvin

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Mary’s Nursing Home (Mount Hope), London, on May 14, 2022. Predeceased by his wife Francis (2014); parents Herbert and Sophia; brothers Herb (2012), Herman (2014), Sterling (2018), Vincent (2020); and sisters-in-law Debbie (2002) and Marianne (2017). Loving father of David (Mary) of Avon, and Elaine Paquette of London. Loving grandfather of Jennifer (Tim), Vanessa Melvin, Leah Paquette (Dwayne), Paul Paquette (Veronica); seven great-grandchildren: Lawrence, Brooklyn, Drayden, Cason, Daylen, Caine and Henry; and one great-great grandchild, Aurora Lynn. Brother to Florence (Jack), Lynn (Judy), Arnold, all of London, Gary (Sandra) of Lucan, Della (Harold), Lawrence (Margaret), Erban (Janet), Lorinda (Sydney), Darlene (Darrell), Spencer (Doris), Myles (Debbie) and Raymond all of New Brunswick. Brother-in-law of Fay of London and Bonnie of St. Thomas. Also remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Art was born on December 18, 1935, in Creek Road, Kings County, New Brunswick. He worked at Ford Motor Company in Talbotville for 26 years. Art loved spending many winters in Florida with his wife after retirement, as well as gardening, fishing, biking and tinkering around in his workshop. The family would like to express their thanks for the care he received from the staff on the 3rd floor of Mount Hope Nursing Home in London. A private family graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 303 Riverside Dr., London on May 19, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
