Obituary of Steve Charles Barta

Steve Barta of London, Ontario passed away peacefully surrounded by the shared love of his family on Friday, November 18, 2022. Predeceased by his parents Ann (1996) & Tony (1997), his wife Kim (2013), sister Ellie Goodrich (2020) and granddaughter Courtney Dixon (2021). Dear brother of Sylvia Nichols (Bob). Steve was known for his love of and passion for family, fitness, fishing and friends. Dad gave great advice, took time to listen, always had a book at hand, and loved a thick slice of prime rib, medium rare. Steve’s children Scott Barta (Gwen), Michelle Dixon (Tim), Mari-Lynn Wells (Doug) and Susan Atout (Yaz) will miss Dad’s love and hugs. He taught us the value of a job well done, commitment to a task, and to believe in our dreams. When asked how you were, he always corrected you to say ‘fantastic!’ Grandchildren Joshua (Chantal), Christopher (McKenzie), Jeffrey (Robin), Danielle (Phil), Alicia, and Maddison (David) will remember summers spent at the cottage Poppy built in Ipperwash. Seven great grandchildren joined in the celebration of Poppy’s 90th on April 1st. Many nieces and nephews had a special place in his heart. We are thankful to the Heart Failure Clinic at St. Joseph's, the Community Palliative Care Team, the Wellness team and staff at Richmond Woods, and St. Elizabeth outreach. Your professionalism and compassion supported Dad through his healthcare journey providing us all peace of mind. Special thanks to Dr. John Clifford; your graciousness blessed our family.
