Obituary of Douglas Andrew Kari

Surrounded by family, Douglas (Doug) Andrew Kari passed away peacefully at home, on November 22, 2022, at the age of 73. Loving husband of Chrystal Kari; adored father of Allison Kerr (Kevin), Michael Kari, Patrick Petz (Kara) and Ryan Petz (Jessica); proud grandfather of Elaura Kari (Brandon), Destiny Korven, Wyatt Kerr (Makenna), Alyssa Kerr, Amelia Petz, and Morgan Petz; great grandfather to Easton. The oldest of seven children, Doug was born February 16,1949 in Thunder Bay to the late Walter and Ethel Kari. He is predeceased by siblings Marilyn Kari, Gordon Kari and Donna Kari. Doug was the brother to Barbara Butt (George), Bev Jackson (Mike), and Donald Kari (Gillian). Doug will be remembered as the successful business owner of Triple D Electric and loyal brother to the IBEW Local 120 for 50 years. Best known for his jovial sense of humour, light-hearted nature, and quick wit, Doug was often surrounded by the love and laughter of friends and family. Doug is remembered for passionately coaching his children’s sports and cheering on his grandchildren in their endeavours. Always up for a game, Doug had a passion for the London Knights, NASCAR, and shooting pool alongside friends. Doug was a 20-year member of Hustler Billiards. He spent summer days cruising in his beloved Mustang Cobra and throwing balls in the backyard with his adoring animals. Doug’s numerous friends and family members are left with a catalogue of happy memories. Thank you to St. Thomas Elgin General Emergency Department, London Regional Cancer Clinic, and South West Home and Community Care for the ongoing care that allowed Doug’s final months to be spent at home with loved ones. A celebration of Doug's life will take place at the IBEW Local 120 Baquet Hall, 6688 Tempo Road, London, on December 3rd, 2022 from 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m., following a private interment with immediate family. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the London Humane Society or a local food bank.
