Obituary of Betty Yvonne Dickinson

Betty Yvonne Dickinson, known affectionately as Betty, passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 84 in London, ON. She was born on February 17, 1939, in Cambridge, Kings County, Nova Scotia. Betty was a loving and devoted wife to Eric Dickinson and a cherished mother to Wendy and Tracey (Peter). She took great joy in being a grandmother to Samantha, Hilary, Justin, Amanda, and Matthew. Betty had a deep love for her family and was one of 11 siblings. Betty's military associations included serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Lead Aircraft Woman. She proudly contributed to the defense and security of our nation during her time in service. Following her military career, Betty went on to work in various roles, ultimately retiring from LHSC as the Coordinator of Portering Services. Outside of her professional life, Betty had a range of hobbies that brought her great pleasure. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time in her garden, nurturing vibrant blooms and lush foliage. Betty's culinary skills were renowned among her loved ones, as she delighted in cooking and baking delicious meals for family gatherings. Family was at the heart of her interests, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Betty will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings, Stewart, Linda, Keith, Wayne, Marilyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Baden Powell Brothers, mother Viola Geneva Brothers (Bezanson), brother Baden, brother Phillip, sister Kathleen, brother Raymond, and sister Shirley. In memory of Betty Yvonne Dickinson, contributions can be made to the Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or My Sister's Place. These organizations were close to Betty's heart, and donations made in her honor would be greatly appreciated. The family will hold a private ceremony to celebrate Betty's life.
