My sincere condolences to the entire family.
I had the privilege as a young musician at the age of 16, playing a few shows with Jim (along with Sid Prescott and Nancy Pope)
at the Pleasant View Hotel in North Hatley, Quebec. (1969)
Jim taught us many things about showmanship, vocal technique and what excellent percussion sounds like.

My daughters and I grieve the loss of my father, Jim "Bumpy" Taunton. Paige and Mae knew their grandfather as Bumpy - the same name I used to call my own grandfather. I will never forget his beautiful voice. We pray for his soul's eternal repose.

My sister Diane sent this to me today. And it brings back great memories of the guys golfing. All three have recently deceased and golfing in heaven. RIP - Jimmy, Ron and Joe. I hope they have a golf course up in heaven. And what a bunch of handsome men.

Mary Lou our condolences to you and your family. Having been your next door neighbor for the last 8 or more years it seems we had a brief connection with aches and pains. We were also impressed with your strength and drive. Just observing you as you journeyed around the complex with James and his walker
I Don have similar pain issues just watching James with his walker was an inspiration.
I am sorry we never heard him play his drums and guitar except possibly at the last pot luck.
I Don grew up in a very musical background even though the genre you played was different. music is music, mine different but exciting.
We were pleased to provide you some scripture through the Daily Bread wish we could have done that sooner

I was so sorry to hear about James' passing. I always enjoyed chatting with him as he was frequently out walking about the condo. He also added a lot of joy singing and playing his guitar at our Canada Day celebrations in the condo parkette. We will miss him.

Best memory of Jim was sitting on the stairs many years ago at Blue Orchid listening to Jim playing the guitar'and singing his favourite songs. I’ll never forget the joy I felt that year when I figured it out why he was always missing when Santa came by on Christmas Eve. He was always the most convincing Santa Claus and also the best Easter egg judge. Thank you for brightening up my childhood.

It took me a long time to write about my beloved Jimmy. Jimmy was my rock. He was pro me (Mary Lou) in everything he did and always stood strong beside me.
He was my star. Although his voice was pure and wonderful and entertained me and everyone we knew over the years, it was Jim's heart and soul that attracted me. We were soul mates.
There is a hole in my heart that will never heal and I can tell you it hurts so bad. I miss him and his smile every minute of every day.
He stood by me through some very good and very difficult times and his love was always evident.
My 35 years with Jimmy were a privilege and I will forever be in his debt and I will forever be his voice.
I will always love you Jimmy, more than you will ever know. And I hope you hear and feel that love I have for you

Sorry Mary Lou, Ryan, Jason, and family. It seems unfair that the Lord called Jim back to Heaven far too soon. The Lord works in mysterious ways that is hard for us to understand.
