Obituary of Gerald Burt Wright

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald Burt Wright (Gerry), on Friday February 23rd, 2024, at age 83. Gerry ended his journey with his beloved wife and family by his side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his wife Marilyn and his four children Wendy (Rick) Potter, Bill (Cindy) Wright, Chris (Lynn) Wright and Laurie Middaugh. He was a cherished grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Elma Wright and his brothers Richard and Robert. Gerry enjoyed his lifelong career as an electrician. In retirement, Gerry and Marilyn spent their time travelling to Texas in the winter and enjoying wonderful summers with their family in Port Franks. We will most miss Gerry’s sense of humour, and his contagious smile. The family will have a small private service on February 29th 2024. Cremation and interment will take place prior to the service. A special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and everyone in Continuing Care at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, for their kindness and compassion.
