Obituary of Barbara (nee Mudge) Viau

With heavy hearts we make notice of Barbara Viau (nee Mudge), in her 80th year, who lost her life to leukemia on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in St. Joseph's Hospice. She was surrounded by her family for her remaining time with us. She was loved by her husband, Ross of 52 years of marriage. Her son Paul (Natasha), grandson, Bentley; son Robert, and granddaughter, Taylor. She will be truly missed by her brothers Frank, Peter (Catherine) and sister, Lori (Ron). She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews. She will be greeted at the gates of Heaven by her mother, Lena Mudge (1998) and father, Lawrence Mudge (1994). Also, grandparents Isabella and Frank Nickles and many aunts and uncles, cousins and second cousins. We will hear the music in the skies as the family was very musical and would pick up anything that makes sound and play to their hearts content. Barbara will be at the forefront with her lovely voice singing every tune imaginable. Barbara, we love you and will miss you dearly. You will never be forgotten for your strength and caring heart. You always gave to anyone in need or would help with anything you could. You were the glue that held us together. We will find it hard to live life without you. We know you would want us to live the rest of our lives to the fullest and we will do our best without your guidance. There will be a graveside memorial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, as well as a Celebration of Life, to be held at a later date. On-line condolences & memories may be shared with the family by visiting www.mpcemetery.ca God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be. So, He put His arms around her and whispered. “Come with me.” With tear-filled eyes we watched her suffering fade away. Although we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating; hard-working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
