Obituary of Joan Austin

Unexpectedly at University Hospital on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Theresa Joan Austin, formerly of Tillsonburg, passed away a few weeks after her 90th birthday. Loving wife of 57 years to the late Bruce Austin. Cherished mother of Lisa Austin (Peter Moore) and the late Brent (Jeannine). Dear "Nana/Grandma" to Mackenzie, Micaela, Leo, and Jesse. Loving mother to Brad (Donna) and grandmother to Danny, Ryan and Bailey. Predeceased by her parents T. William Fitzgerald and M. Irene Fitzgerald (O'Meara). Dear sister of the late Delores Johnson (Corbett) and the late Ann Ward. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who cherished her as their second mom. Joan will be dearly missed by those who sought her counsel and advice. She was an exceptional listener and always gave her time freely to her family and friends. A private family interment will take place at Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation are asked to consider the Canadian Diabetes Foundation and JDRF.
