I am sorry to hear of Professor Craven's passing. I was fortunate to have Professor Craven for Indexing when I was in library school in the 80s. It was my favourite course and the one that, for me, had the most relevance to library work. He was an excellent teacher and made what could have been a boring subject come alive. My sincere condolences to all of his family.
FIMS Class of 1986
dear craven family and friends,
it was with a heavy heart hearing about Tim’s passing. Tim taught me my first computer course in 1979 that led me to 38 year IT career at SLIS /FIMS. For that, I will always be grateful. Then as a colleague, there was no one more sharing and cooperative in all things. He had a great love for both research and teaching and it showed in everything he did. That love, also made him a world renowned researcher in many aspects of indexing and searching.
Mostly I will remember him for his consistent calmness, kind manner and dry humour, in good times and bad. He will be missed.
