Obituary of Timothy Courtenay Craven

Timothy Craven (September 4, 1947 – August 17, 2020) Born in Vancouver to John Craven & Charmian Atwool Craven (both deceased), Tim grew up in Ottawa, attending Rideau High School and Carleton University. He obtained his M.A. and PhD in Classics from McMaster University in Hamilton, then moved to London to do his MLS at Western. He taught Library and Information Science at Western University for more than thirty years, and authored numerous publications, most notably String Indexing (1986). Tim passed away peacefully at University Hospital after complications resulting from a long illness. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer and Caitlin Craven, his former wife, Joan Craven, his sister, Jean Craven, and his nephew, Innis Wood. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of University Hospital and to all the healthcare workers who cared for Tim during his illness.
