I worked with both Bill and Jean at CN back in the '70's. They were lovely people and such a cute couple to watch, always together. My condolences to his family and friends at this sad time. Janet (Brewer) Woods

When I read of Bill Knowles death, the first words that came to mind were “well done thou good and faithful servant.” I worked with Bill and Jean at St. Paul’s Cathedral Daily Bread Program and Fellowship Centre for several years. They were both an inspiration and a testament of Christian faith. This team is finally reunited in their heavily reward. Thank you Bill and Jean, Rest in peace.

I am so sad to hear of Bill’s passing, but I know how much he missed Jean and is now reunited with her.
Bill and I met in the early 1980’s, when he worked for CN and I worked at Bell, which was in the same building. A group of us met for coffee each morning and shared much laughter over the years.
Bill and Jean lived 4 doors down from my middle sister in Byron and when I moved to Byron, I saw them out walking quite frequently. We ran into each other many times over the years - at the theatre, Orchestra London concerts, train trips to Toronto and we were even on the same bus trip to see the Boston Pops and Cape Cod. You eventually moved into the same building on Picton where my youngest sister lived. It was crazy how many times our paths crossed!
Thanks for all the many laughs and good memories, Bill. God bless.

I’m so sad to hear of Bill’s passing, but so happy he is reunited with his love Jean. I lived next door to them back in the 1980’s. They not only were wonderful neighbours, but great friends. They were an everlasting presence in Byron, walking everywhere. In fact, they were often spotted downtown as well. I ran into them both about 6 years ago…still walking around Byron. They knew who I was right away, even though it had been over 30 years! The stories from their travels are ones I will cherish. Rest In Peace.

I have fond memories of walking with Bill in Victoria Park after Jean died. He missed her immensely and was, I believe, so thankful to be reunited with her.
