Carolyn and I met when I started working at Paramed back in 1985 . We formed a close relationship when we found out she was from Harrow and I was from Wheatley . We had the private duty nursing at the beginning and The Handicapped Children’s program and finally the Visiting Nurse program . We worked well together Carolyn was supervising and I was the coordinator . She was one of the sweetest , kindest people I have ever known . She tried to advise me on many of life’s problems and so much that I began calling her “Ma” ! I lost my Mother when I was just 21 so it meant so much that she was so motherly to me . Carolyn was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and so She retired when she turned 65 . It was sad .
In 1997 I had major heart problems and had to stop working Also I had moved to Belmont . I lost track of Carolyn and had no idea her illness had progressed . One of the nurses had told me she was in Strathroy and was going to take me there to see her . My health took a turn and I never did get there which I regret terribly . She was truly a Lady and was an amazing Nurse and a wonderful person .I feel so blessed to have known her Rest In Peace sweet Lady . Heaven has gained another Angel !
